Cybersecurity remains an area for improvement and despite increasing investment and focus on Cybersecurity, more states and territories rate themselves as lacking proficiency in it than in any other core capability. Repeated, large-scale malicious cyber activity occurred across government and private-sector networks in 2018, demonstrating persistent challenges to achieving cybersecurity. Legacy systems and insufficient numbers of cybersecurity professionals continue to hinder the Nation’s ability to secure ever-growing amounts of data, including sensitive, personally identifiable information.
During the workshop there will be sessions on:
- Cyber Threat Overview – Federal and Local Perspectives
- Cyber Roles and Responsibilities – Federal, State, Local
- Case Study – Real World Cyber Incident
- Presentation on Cyber Incident Response Plan Best Practices and Exercise for participants working through your own Cyber Incident Response Plans
